August 7th, 2010 - In Gayle's words

Last year a rather astute customer said to me, "Lloyd, remember, you are selling scarcity."

Alvin picked 100 figs for me, the kind you dream about.
His brother Orvi, had a box of those fuzzy peach like tomatoes, and some cherry tomatoes smaller than the tip of my finger.
Down the road, James, the king of heirlooms, grows 150 varieties and he let me in on his latest pick.
Elvin packed up big beefsteaks and 17 cases of plum tomatoes, perfect for sauce or canning.
Michael gathered corn from his neighbor's field and waited for the strawberries to arrive.
Christy drove goat cheese down from Vermont, next week, she is bringing us grass fed beef.

August 1, 2010 - God's Country

Thanks to Michael and his mother and sister for holding down the market.

Just returned from visiting mennonite neighbors near Bethlehem, PA.
Brought back a truck load of organics.
Corn, potatoes, patty pan squash, both yellow and green.
Sweet red peppers, and even sweeter red devil's horn peppers, and oh yea, a few red cheese peppers
Blood red tomatoes, heirlooms and last but not least...

PEACHES, red haven and white princess.
